For you, we've created a unique roundtrip, which combines the classic Mexico route with true insiders' tips off the beaten tracks. To start off with your trip, you get to know all the important sights in and around Mexico City. You continue up North to visit the fascinating monolith of Bernal and the beautiful colonial city Querétaro that has barely been discovered by tourists yet. Afterwards you are heading South to get close to the giant volcano Popocatepetl and to experience the federal states of Oaxaca and Chiapas with their colorful markets, unspoiled nature and authentic Maya culture. On the Yucatan Peninsula, you gather unforgettable impressions before you conclude the last days of your trip at the wonderful Caribbean beach.

1. Day: Arrival in Mexico City

According to your time of arrival we pick you up at the airport and bring you to your hotel. Overnight stay

 


2. Day: City Tour & Anthropological Museum

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

After breakfast we take you on a panorama city tour. You visit among others the huge Zocalo with its famous cathedral and the government palace with the impressive murals designed by Diego Riviera. To make the city tour perfect, it finishes with an informative visit of the anthropological museum, which is situated on the brink of the Chapultepec Park. Afterwards you are brought back to your hotel. In the afternoon you can take the opportunity to discover Mexico City on your own. Overnight stay.

 


3. Day: Mexico City - Teotihuacán & Basilica de Guadalupe

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

Today you are off towards the impressive archeological site Teotihuacán that is situated about 65 kilometers away from the city. You definitely shouldn't miss out on climbing up the Sun- or Moon Pyramid as it provides you with an imposing view over the whole area over the former "city of gods". Then you keep going to the Basilica de Guadalupe, the most famous pilgrimage site of Mexico, before we bring you back to your hotel. Overnight stay.


4. Day: Tour to the Popocateptl volcano

After breakfast you are heading to Popocatepetl. After having a little break in the small village Amecameca, you continue to the Paso Cortez (3700m), from where you have an amazing view over the volcanoes. If you feel like it, you can go on a little hike or just enjoy the unique atmosphere. On your way back you have another little stopover in Tlamacas, before you are brought back to Mexico City. Overnight stay.

 


5. Day: Mexico City - Bernal, Freixenet & Querétaro

Today we pick you up after breakfast and take you northwards, to Querétaro (ca. 200 km). Before getting there, you get to know the small colonial town of Bernal that is situated in the Sierra of Querétaro. Here you will climb up the notorious 288-metre high monolith, Peña de Bernal, which is the third-highest in the world right after Ayers Rock and the Sugar Loaf Mountain. It is said to have magical abilities and to grant a long life for those who climb up to the top. The spectacular view over the Sierra Gorda rewards all efforts. Afterwards you have some time left to take a closer look at the charming village and to try some of the traditional Gortditas (corn dumplings with stuffing as desired) that Bernal is famous for, before you are heading to the Freixenet winery, one of the biggest wine-growing districts in Mexico. Here you can enjoy a wine tasting, before you are brought back to your hotel. Overnight stay.

 


6. Day: Querétaro - Cholula & Puebla

In the early morning you set out for Puebla (approx. 340 km), which is the fourth largest city in Mexico and the capital of the federal state of Puebla. The charming colonial city is full of history and well known for its location in between of four volcanoes. On your way to the city you visit the temple Santa María Tonantzintla and get to know Cholula, the holy city. Here you visit the biggest pyramid in Mexico, regarding the dimension. In Puebla you enjoy a city tour through the historic centre, where you get to know all important sights like the cathedral and the Santo Domingo church. The afternoon is at your disposal. Take a stroll along the beatiuful streets and alleys and give the regional delicacies a try that Puebla is famous for. Afterwards you are heading South to Oaxaca (approx. 345 km). Overnight stay.

 


7. Day: Mitla, Tule & Hierve el Agua - San Cristóbal

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

In the morning after your breakfast we take you to the archeological site Mitla. On the way you stop over at the world's widest living tree, the Tree of Tule. In its stem you can discover interesting formations, which are explained by your guide. After visiting Mitla you keep going to the limestone waterfalls Hierve el Agua, which are waiting to offer you a refreshing bath in the mineral water with a breathtaking view on the waterfalls and the surrounding area. Relaxed and refreshed you are taken back to the hotel. In the late evening you are brought to the bus terminal in Oaxaca, where you take the first-class intercity bus to San Cristóbal de las Casas. Overnight trip.

 


8. Day: Oaxaca - Monte Alban & City tour

After breakfast your city tour starts through the colonial center of Oaxaca, which has been declared world culture heritage by the UNESCO. During your tour you get to know the most important and most famous sights,  like the beautiful cathedral and the Zócalo, the main square of the city. Afterwards you are heading towards Monte Albán, the most distinguished archeological site of the region. A long time ago, Aldous Huxley, an American writer, was fascinated by the Zapotec city that is situated on an artificially flattened mountain. It is definitely going to impress you, too. Discover the site's impressive temples, pyramids, the ball game court and several relief panels. Afterwards you return to Oaxaca, where you can use the evening to try the regional specialties. Grasshopper, mole and typical chocolate are famous for Oaxaca. Overnight stay.

 


9. Day: Cañon del Sumidero - San Cristobal de las Casas

You arrive at about 6 am at your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas and you have enough time to have a rest before you visit the famous and impressive Canyon del Sumidero, which counts almost 1000 meters at its highest point. There you enjoy an exciting boat tour through the canyon, where an exotic world of flora and fauna is waiting for you. Afterwards you go to the colonial village Chiapa del Corzo where you can visit the beautiful church and still have enough time to enjoy your lunch. From Chiapa del Corzo you go back to San Cristóbal de las Casas. Overnight stay.

 


10. Day: Lagos de Montebello & El Chiflón

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

Early in the morning you head out for Amate Nango del Valle, a typical Maya Tzeltal Village, which is famous for its ceramic art. Afterwards you visit the nature reserve of Lagos de Montebello, where you can admire five of the more than 50 lakes, before we take you to the 80 meters high "El Chiflón", the biggest and maybe most beautiful waterfall of Chiapas. Here you can enjoy a refreshing bath in the crystal clear water, before you are brought back to San Cristóbal. Overnight stay.

 


11. Day: Agua Azul, Misol Ha & Palenque

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

In the early morning you visit the beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Here you should not miss out on a refreshing bath in the turquoise shimmering water and the delicious taste of the famous Empanadas. This is definitely on of the highlights of this great trip and gives you a chance to relax and enjoy yourself for a while. Then your tour leads to the next impressive waterfall Misol Ha and finally to Palenque. Overnight stay.

 


12. Day: Bonampak & Yaxchilan

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

After breakfast you are heading towards Yaxchitlan and Bonampak; both sites are, just like Palenque, highlights of the Mayan world and barely discovered by tourists, which gives grounds to hope for exciting encounters with monkeys or other animals. Usually they loudly defend their territory and we recommend to bring sturdy shoes, because every now and then you have to dodge flying branches. Both ruins are reachable by boat, that will will take you along the border river to Guatemala, the Rio Usumacinta, straight to the ruins that are situated in the middle of the jungle Lacandona. In the evening you are brought back to your hotel in Palenque. Overnight stay.

 


13. Day: Palenque - Archeological Site - Campeche

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

 

 After breakfast you go on the way towards Campeche, where you can use the rest of the day to discover the little fisher town with its colorful houses on your own or simply relax and enjoy going back in time to the ancient colony. Today you will also have the chance to visit an Archeological Site on the way before you head towards Campeche. Do not miss out on the amazing sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. It is said to be the most beautiful one of the country and can be observed from the boardwalk. Overnight stay.

 

 

 

 

 


 

14. Day: Campeche - Uxmal - Hacienda Museum - Merida

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

 

Enjoy in the morning a city tour in Campeche whose historical center is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage since 1999. You leave Campeche towards Uxmal which is Yucatan's most important archeological excavation apart from Chichen Itza.  You will stopver to visit the Hacienda Museum, with its interesting cultural highlights.

 

Then you drive on towards Mérida, better known as the "white city" where you spend a short time on a panorama city tour before we bring you to your hotel. The evening is at your disposal, take your time to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city. Overnight stay.

 


15. Day: Merida - Chichen Itza - Playa del Carmen

After breakfast you leave towards Chichen Itza, one of the seven world wonders and Mexico's most famous and best restored archeological excavation. After your guided tour you move on to the paradies Playa del Carmen. Admire the monumental Kukulkan pyramide, which is also known as "El Castillo" and all the other impressing constructions this place has to offer. After your guided tour you move on to Playa del Carmen or Cancun where your connection stay begins. Enjoy your last days in Mexico on its beautiful dream beaches before you're heading to your hotel in Playa del Carmen. Overnight stay.

 

 

 


16. Day: Playa del Carmen

Today spend the day in Playa del Carmen, where you can use it flexibly as you would like. You can either relax at the beach or have a walk through the village and go shopping. Overnight stay.

 

 

 

 

 

 


17. Day: Playa del Carmen - Cancún

BUENOS DIAS MEXICO

In case you have not booked an extended beach stay, your trip comes to an end today. According to the further course of your trip, you are brought to the airport of Cancun.
