Day 1: Arrival in Cancún

BIENVENIDOS A QUERÉTARO!

After your arrival at the airport in Cancún your guide will pick you up and bring you to your hotel in Puerto Morelos. After a warm welcome you meet the rest of the group and get a short introduction to all the activities that await you during the upcoming week. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Reef, Botanic Garden & Snorkeling by Night

After breakfast you are being taken out by boat into the open sea to discover a beautiful reef with a huge diversity of unique animals and all the rich colors the underwater world has to offer. The reef is home to many big, impressive fish, like the Barracuda or the Angelfish and many different species of corals. Later that day you get to know the Botanic Garden of Puerto Morelos with the interesting flora and fauna of the Riviera Maya and the nimble monkeys that are playing in the treetops above your head. Full of new impressions you are brought back to your hotel. Optionally you have the possibility to join a snorkeling trip at night, which gives you the opportunity to experience the reef and its inhabitants in a very special way. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Tulum & Sian Ka´an

In the morning you are off to the archaeological site of Tulum. Visit the old Mayan ruins that are situated amidst spectacular scenery of a unique beachscape in front of the turquoise sea. Afterwards you continue to the impressing Gran Cenote with its crystal clear water. Don´t miss the opportunity to take a dip in the refreshing water and to snorkel in a cave with monumental stalagmites and stalagtites that have emerged during the last centuries. Later that day you reach the famous biosphere reserve Sian Ka´an where you get to know the interesting sea turtle project during a night walk at the beach (between May and September only). If you want to, you can join the project and even take over a sponsorship for one of the fascinating creatures. In case you are traveling during the months January until April, you go on a nightly kayak tour with good chances to get to see some crocodiles. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Bird Watching & Coba

Today you have the optional possibility to join a bird watching tour before breakfast. Afterwards you go on a tour through the reserve by bike, which gives you the possibility to discover the unique wildlife. In the afternoon you continue to the lake Laguna Coba, which is situated right next to the archaeological site of Coba. During an exciting night walk you come face to face with crocodiles that live in the lake.

Day 5: Bird Watching & Rio Lagartos

Today again you have the choice to join a bird watching tour before breakfast. You might discover rare species that you haven't seen the other day before your tour leads you to the nature reserve and fisher village Rio Lagartos. It is primarily known for the numerous pink flamingos that live here. Once you arrive there, you discover the enchanting lagoon by boat and enjoy the species-rich flora and fauna of the lake that is not only home to the beautiful flamingos, but also to 320 other animals like the egret, cormorants and storks. If you're lucky, you also get to see the shy saltwater crocodiles. Afterwards you are heading to the sleepy fishing village San Felipe. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Ek Balam, Holbox & Cancún

In the morning you are heading to the little Mayan village of Ek Balam, where you get to know the way of life of the locals as well as their current projects. Afterwards you continue to the fabulous island Holbox, which is hardly touched by tourism. By boat you enjoy the unspoiled nature and the idyllic peace and silence of the island. After a relaxing day you are brought back to Cancun. Overnight stay.

Day 7: Whale Shark Tour (May - Sept) / Sail Fish Tour (Jan - Apr)

After breakfast you join a boat tour that leads you to the biggest shark- and at the same time biggest fish- on earth, the whale shark. While snorkelling you can et close to these impressive, but harmless animals and swim with them, which is a unique and certainly unforgettable adventure for you. However, during the winter months you come across the silvery blue sail fish. Back in Cancún you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the beach. Overnight stay.

Day 8: Day of Departure

Today it is time to say goodbye and adios to Mexico, a beautiful, colourful and intoxicating country with its very special, hospitable people who are full of life. After breakfast you are, according to further course of your trip, brought to your hotel, the airport or the bus terminal.
