Festivities & Holidays
FIESTAS Y DIAS FESTIVOS
In Mexico people love to celebrate and if you are there during certain holidays, you shouldn't miss the festivities! They are often in honor of the Saint of their village, the annual crop or the beginning of the rainy season. There are many national holidays that make the whole country celebrate. We recommend you to spend such days in less touristic regions in order to get authentic impressions.
The most important holidays in Mexico are "Semana Santa" (the week before Easter), "Día de la independencia" (Independence Day) and "Día de los muertos" (Day of the Death) as well as the Christmas Holidays.
